You could say it has it has six springs but ordered so it at sometimes sounds like 3 sometimes like 9. The spring reverb could be sad to have 3 springs.ĪKIR Smooth Springer is a smoother older brother to the AKIR Springer IR set. The whole business was so unfulfilling until I made some impulse responses through it. In other words useless if you want to use more than one plugin at a time or want to do anything were your DAW is even remotely responsive. The plugin is a great example of my mad skillz as a programmer as it takes about 98% of my CPU at a 200 milliseconds long buffer. I wanted a nice spring reverb sound but couldn’t find a plug (that didn’t use the iLok madness) so I tried to program one.
These impulse responses will create a stable and clean spring reverb sound. Impulse responses recorded from the cabinets of guitar amplifiers and speakers I like. These impulses have been edited quite a lot and I have used both real rooms and reverb units to create the impulses.
My most common use of these is to make synthesizers feel more alive but they work very well on drums and vocals too.
